Complete Bollywood Box Office Report For January

Unlike 2011, year 2012 started with a big flop. 2011 saw hit “No One Killed Jessica” in first week only but 2012 had to wait till last week of January to get going. “Players” recorded shockingly low collections for such a multi starrer film with Abbas - Mustan at helm of affairs. If that was not enough, all small films in subsequent couple of weeks traced without notice and few even struggled to recover their P & A cost (i.e. “Sadda Adda”,  & “Tutiya Dil”). Though “Ghost” did register some surprising number due to pull of horror genre in single screens but it was still below average.

But all this was washed out by blockbuster opening of “Agneepath” on Republic Day. Film registered highest first day collections ever by a film breaking the record of “Bodyguard”. Film though did not sustain at same level at box office but still it was a huge success for Hrithik Roshan and Dharma Productions.
